Hi Bloomers!
We have had quite a quirky start to our summer weather here in Nova Scotia, heat wave, weeks of pouring rain and back to a heat wave again. It has not made for quick start to the 2023 garden!
Though we are getting through I have had some garden losses. The watermelons, cucamelons and cantaloupe transplants did not survive all of the soggy humid weather. On the other hand, the tomatoes, peppers and chives are really thriving!
Today I chopped all of the chives to bring in, cut up and portion out for the freezer and I spotted some baby patio tomatoes coming on a few plants!

I am always SO excited when I see the first signs of fruit on my plants!
While it can be easy to be upset with the lost melons and plants, I am trying to focus on those plants that are doing well.

Being in the garden is always refreshing and grounding for me.
I hope you all have had a great weekend and are doing something that brings you a little bit of joy each day.

My favourite post! Inspiring to see that anything is possible in the garden world. There are ups and downs but something always blooms when there is patience and nurture. ❤️
RIP sweet melons but welcome to the world to everyone else!
Also – that’s the cutest strawberry that I’ve ever seen
